Wormhole releases Solana/ETHNFT Bridge –
) Last Friday, the Wormhole Network, a blockchain project, launched the ethereum-solana bridge. This allows users to cross-chain exchange assets between both networks. Five days later, Wormhole Network announced the launch a non-fungible token bridge (NFT), which allows users to transfer NFTs between the two blockchains.
Wormhole Launches Ethereum Solana NFT bridge The cryptocurrency network Solana has been making waves in the past few months. It recently made it to the top ten crypto assets according to market valuation. SOL has gained more than 12% today and 30-day stats show the crypto asset is up 92.3%. Bitcoin.com News published a five-day old report on the Wormhole Network’s ethereum-solana bridge. This new service will allow Solana protocol participants as well as Ethereum blockchain users to transfer assets between the chains.
Wormhole will be following up with a service for assets that are non-fungible tokens (NFT) on both chains. Wormhole tweeted Wednesday, “Today, we’re incredibly thrilled to announce the launch our NFT bridge zwischen Ethereum and Solana.” Users will be able send NFTs across-chain to Solana and Ethereum. The team also added that this includes Cryptopunks (wrapped), @DegenApeAcademy, and @BoredApeYC.
The new tool created by the Wormhole team opens up a “bidirectional highway for more that 6. 68 million NFTs minted on Ethereum,” a statement sent to Bitcoin.com News from the Wormhole team details. Records from Solanartnft show that SPL assets (Solana-minted NFTs) have seen an aggregate total of 2,633,632 SOL in volume.
Wormhole Plans to Launch NFT Verification Tool
The ethereum – solana NFT bridge tool can be leveraged to list a Solana-based NFT on a marketplace like Opensea. The assets can be bribed to Ethereum and will then exist in a “wrapped” form on Ethereum. According to the Wormhole team, the transfer takes about five minutes and then the SPL will be controllable like any other ERC721 standard token.
“Conversely, anyone can also take ERC-721 NFTs and transfer them to Solana so users can list their e.g. The Wormhole Network operators stated that the BAYC NFT can be used on Solana market markets.
The Wormhole team explained that Wormhole developers will add an interface to allow users to verify authenticity by checking which NFT is backing the asset (on the original chain). Hendrik Hofstadt (director of special projects at Jump Crypto), former co-founder and lead contributor to Wormhole told Bitcoin.com News that verification will be crucial.
“Imagine a wrapped/bridged’ NFT as a type of check or claim that gives you the right to redeem NFTs on the chain they came from,” Hofstadt stated.
