Houston Rockets and Bitcoin Company NYDIG Sign a Sponsorship Agreement

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets, an

NBA team, has partnered up with NYDIG to become the official partner for bitcoin services. The deal will provide the team with cryptocurrency-related opportunities and give NYDIG exclusive exposure in the team’s social, digital, and arena platforms. The sponsorship fee, which is not being disclosed, was paid in bitcoin.

NYDIG Forms a Partnership with the Houston Rockets

NYDIG, the bitcoin services company, has forged a sponsorship deal with the Houston Rockets, the two-time NBA champion basketball team. NYDIG will be the official partner in bitcoin services and the bitcoin platform for the team. This will give the company exclusive access to several areas of the franchise including digital and social media.

The Houston Rockets will also collaborate with NYDIG in order to increase knowledge and awareness about cryptocurrency and the new investment tools. Gretchen Sheirr, President of Business Operations for the Houston Rockets, stated that

is her opinion.

Our organization relies on technology advancements to stay on the cutting-edge. NYDIG is a partner that allows us to use the rise of Bitcoin to offer creative rewards and payment options for our associates and fans.

Naming Rights and NYDIG’s Recent Partnerships

NYDIG will also be able to name the Toyota Center’s suite levels. These will be known as the “Bitcoin Suites By NYDIG” and will receive advertisements during Rockets games. NYDIG will pay the entire sponsorship amount in bitcoin. The funds are kept under NYDIG’s care. Kelly Brewster is chief marketing officer at NYDIG.

The Rockets will receive bitcoin payments. This partnership reflects our excitement about Houston and the Bitcoin innovation that is taking place there.

NYDIG has been on a roll with partnerships lately, having also partnered earlier this month with Landry’s — the dining, hospitality, and entertainment company — to power a bitcoin loyalty rewards program that will bring bitcoin rewards to certain users of the franchise. The company also acquired Bottlepay, a Lightning Network-based payments company, to include its Lightning Network infrastructure in NYDIG’s current full-stack offer.
