Blockchain.com NFT Marketplace Launches Beta Access

Nonfungible token (NFT), assets have grown to be a billion-dollar business and will continue to be a majorstay in the future. As the NFT hype grows exponentially in 2021, a number of crypto-asset exchanges have launched NFT markets this year. Well-known exchanges like Crypto.com, Coinbase, and FTX have revealed NFT markets in the midst of giant standalone NFT markets like Opensea and Rarible. Now Blockchain.com, the cryptocurrency-dedicated financial services company, has announced its NFT marketplace.

” We want to make it as easy as possible for you to access the NFT market,” Blockchain.com’s announcement details. Blockchain.com’s NFT marketplace (in beta) will allow you to buy, sell, store, and browse NFTs securely without leaving your Blockchain.com wallet .

Firm Releasing NFT Explorer

Blockchain.com’s NFT market launch announcement follows the firm’s recent acquisition of the Argentina-based investment platform Sesocio. The acquisition brings Blockchain.com’s employee headcount to 400 workers worldwide, and it plans to establish a physical presence in Latin America. Starting today, people can sign up for beta access to the company’s new NFT marketplace which will allow users to “buy, sell, and store NFTs” inside their Blockchain.com noncustodial wallet.

Blockchain.com Reveals Non-Fungible Token Marketplace and NFT Explorer

The company also launched an NFT explorer which gives information on non-fungible tokens such as current price, floor price, information on the current NFT owner, and the last sale price. Blockchain.com’s NFT Explorer information is derived from Ethereum-based NFTs that are available on the Opensea NFT Marketplace. An announcement blog post provides information that explains step-by-step instructions on how to buy an NFT from Blockchain.com’s marketplace.

Nike is facing a lawsuit from people who bought its NFTs

A group of people sued Nike this week over its decision to wind down its virtual show project RTFKT last year. The buyers of the digital assets accuse Nike of causing “the rug to be pulled out from under them,” and say they wouldn’t have bought its NFTs if they’d known they were “unregistered securities,” reports Reuters.

Filed in New York’s Eastern District, the proposed class action lawsuit seeks “unspecified damages of more than $5 million for alleged violations of New York, California, Florida and Oregon consumer protection laws.”

Nike tried to jump into the NFT game by buying RTFKT in 2021. But, like Starbucks Odyssey, it never quite worked out and the company abandoned the idea, announcing in December via the RTFKT X account that it planned to “wind down RTFKT operations” by the end of January this year.

Since then, RTFKT has seemingly been maintained by a single person named Samuel Cardillo, who spent Thursday posting through the sudden disappearance (and later reappearance) of artwork for its CloneX NFTs project.
