Shiba Inu unveiled their all-new metaverse program, ‘SHIB : The Metaverse’. It is expected to compete against established platforms like Decentraland or The Sandbox.

Interestingly, the team behind Shiba Inu chose ETH instead of the SHIB token to fund the ‘SHIB The Metaverse’ project. For land pricing, Ethereum (ETH), will be used.

‘SHIB – The Metaverse ‘

The ‘SHIB: The Metaverse’ will have 100,595 plots of both private and public land. Public lands will be available for purchase, while private lands will be kept safe. Private lands are land parcels that correspond to key locations in the metaverse.

The plots in the Shiba Inu metaverse shall be released in phases with the first phase unlocking the first 36,431 plots of public land that will be categorized into four categories namely Gold Tail, Silver Fur, Platinum Paw, and Diamond Teeth. The first phase plots will be worth between 0.02ETH and 1.ETH.

The funds collected during the rollout of each phase will be used to fund the development of the entire project. That is why the team chose to use an neutral token, the Ethereum, instead of the SHIB. To pay all sources, the ETH can be converted to stablecoins.

A post on the Shiba Inu Ecosystem Blog page reads:

“SHIB: The Metaverse will consist of 100,595 plots of land. Every plot offers an opportunity to be part of the Shiba-inspired environment. Some lands will be kept secret as they are key points for travel in the metaverse. They can also be used to share common ground. These will represent roads (corridors): Avenues, Boulevards, and Hubs, while public ones will be available for purchase”

Dogecoin founder slams Shiba Inu’s metaverse project

Billy Markus was the co-founder of Dogecoin and attacked the metaverse project of Shiba Inu, saying that creating a ‘random metaverse’ and’selling fake Land’ using Ethereum does not increase the utility of the SHIB token.

Markus said:

“Make a random metaverse, sell fake land with Ethereum and add utility to your project. I mean whatever if people wanna give the devs even more money go ahead but if I was a SHIB holder I would be annoyed.”
