The META HISTORY team established Ukraine’s first NFT museum one month after Russia invaded. Since then they have managed to raise $1,290,398 (803. 28 ETH) for the Aid For Ukraine crypto fund, created by the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ukrainian crypto platform KUNA and the blockchain company Everstake, and the Charity Foundation of Serhiy Prytula.
” The idea of immortalizing historical events in art and giving them to people who support Ukraine was a viable one from the beginning. The drop in March brought in over $600,000 in 24 hours 1,282 of 2,178 NFTs were sold. META History can contribute significantly to Ukraine’s support by highlighting the truth through NFT artwork and selling it until war is over,” Brittany Kaiser (META HISTORY ambassador), founder of #OwnYourData and blockchain activist.
On July 21, META HISTORY released its third NFT collection Warline (https://metahistory.gallery/warline), which consists of artwork that recounts the course of the war. One of hundreds of artists from different fields of visual art illustrates each of the important events. Artificial intelligence is responsible for one of the exhibits.
“Ukraine’s first NFT museum META HISTORY raised over $1,000,000 for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. All proceeds were donated to Aid For Ukraine, which is a crypto-fund that supports the army. While the NFT cannot stop Russian missiles from hitting Ukraine, it provides a way for Ukraine’s innovation-friendly nation to grow and rebuild its economy,” Oleksandr Bornyakov said, the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The team behind the project will share more about the third drop of the collection at the online event in the metaverse on July 28. Party Space, the project partner, will provide a virtual exhibition space where the visitors will see 30 works from the new drop, and learn more about the process of making them and the further plans from the art directors and artists involved in the project. The museum’s META-HISTORY social media pages will soon announce the event and provide information about how to get there.
” We saw great potential for raising funds for Ukraine via NFT art. We are currently working to expand its capabilities and add more options for people to purchase artwork. We hope that the next drop will bring free mint. You’ll also find regular metaverse events, where you can learn more about the project as well as the behind-the scenes,” VK (Founder of META HISTORIY museum).
