AC Milan is a well-known soccer team in Italy’s Serie A league. It is currently the champion. Monkeyleague, a Web3 soccer league based in Solana, was chosen as the official NFT partner by the organization to launch a new series NFT-branded game assets.
AC Milan to Launch NFT Branded Assets in Monkeyleague
Sports clubs from around the globe are now using more Web3 elements to reach fans in different countries. AC Milan, the current champion in the Italian Serie A League, recently announced that it will be participating in a new NFT initiative. The organization partnered with Monkeyleague, a soccer esports Web3 game, to launch a joint NFT drop involving franchise-owned IP.
The team released a press release informing that Monkeyleague was now the team’s official NFT partner and that they would be working closely with them to create a new collection AC Milan NFT game assets including skins and stadiums.
Casper Stylsvig was the Chief Revenue Officer and stressed the importance of AC Milan’s digital presence for its fans. He stated:
We are excited to announce our partnership with Monkeyleague. This collaboration will allow us to further strengthen our position in the field digital innovation. Monkeyleague is a unique partnership that allows us to bring this game to fans around the globe and gives them an innovative way to connect with their favorite football team.
More Elements and Background
The partnership will allow fans to purchase physical items related to the team. Many of the NFTs that will be auctioned will include jerseys signed by all members of the team.
Key players from AC Milan will also be playingtesting various elements of the game to give feedback to Monkeyleague in order to make it more interesting. The team is not new to Web3 as they have launched a fan token with Socios.com.
Recently, the team also sealed a partnership with Bitmex, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, which became the first official sleeve partner for the team.
